 Farmington Valley 2007 Butterfly Count - Report




The 12th annual Farmington Butterfly Count was held on July 14, 2007 under mostly sunny skies with temperatures ranging from 60 to 85 degrees F.  Fifteen observers in four parties logged nineteen hours and walked 6 miles to record a total of 843 individual butterflies of 39 species.  This compared to 492 butterflies and 36 species in 2006. 

The following species and numbers were found on this year's Count:

  • Meadow Fritillary 2
